Bitra policies

Privacy Policy

This policy explains what information Bitra handles when you use our website, create a digital business card, or exchange contact details through a card.

1. Information you provide

When you create an account, we use information such as your name, email address, phone number (if provided), and sign-in credentials. If you create a business card, you may add a profile photo, job title, company, phone number, website, location, address, biography, social links, services, and other profile details.

If you contact support, we receive the name, email address, and message you submit. If you request or complete a contact exchange on a card, we handle the contact details you submit, such as your name, email address, and phone number, along with the card and verification details needed to complete that exchange.

2. Information from Google sign-in

If you choose Google sign-in, Bitra asks Google for your basic profile and email information to verify your email address and sign you in. For a card contact exchange, this can also be used to verify the contact details shared with that card's owner. Google's handling of your information is also subject to Google's privacy policy.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

  • create and secure accounts, provide sign-in, and deliver Bitra features;
  • host and display cards according to the card owner's publishing choices;
  • facilitate contact exchanges, verification, and related notifications;
  • process payments and maintain purchase and access records;
  • respond to support requests, maintain the service, and understand its use;
  • meet legal obligations and protect the service and its users.

4. Public cards and search engines

A card that its owner publishes can be viewed by anyone with its link. Publishing a card and allowing search-engine indexing are separate choices: an owner can allow or decline indexing in the card editor. Declining indexing does not make a published card private or prevent people with its direct link from viewing it.

When a visitor chooses to share contact details through a card, those details are provided to that card's owner so they can respond. Do not include information in a public card or contact exchange that you do not want to share in this way.

5. Analytics, cookies, and payments

Bitra uses Google Analytics to understand visits to the website. Google Analytics may use cookies or similar technologies to collect usage information. We also record business-card engagement events, such as QR scans and link clicks, so card owners can view card analytics.

Free cards may display advertising provided by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies or similar technologies in connection with analytics or advertising; its own privacy terms apply to its services. Bitra also uses essential session technology to keep website features working.

Payments are handled through the payment provider shown at checkout, currently Razorpay. Bitra stores purchase details such as the plan, amount, currency, payment status, and provider transaction references. Payment credentials are handled by the payment provider, not stored by Bitra as part of the payment record.

6. When information is shared

We share information as needed to provide the service: with the owner of a card when you submit contact details through it, with providers that support hosting, email delivery, analytics, advertising, Google sign-in, or payment processing, and when disclosure is required by law or needed to protect rights and safety. Providers handle information under their own terms and privacy practices.

We do not sell your personal information.

7. Retention and security

We keep information for as long as needed to provide the service, maintain account and transaction records, respond to requests, meet legal obligations, and resolve disputes. How long information is kept depends on its purpose and applicable requirements. We use reasonable measures to protect information, but no method of storage or transmission can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

8. Your choices and requests

You can update card details and your search-engine indexing choice in the card editor, delete contact exchanges from your account, and request account deletion from account settings. You may also contact us to ask about accessing, correcting, or deleting personal information, subject to applicable legal requirements.

9. Contact us

For privacy questions or requests, email [email protected] or use our contact page.
